The Franz Altschuler Collection consists of materials related to Altschuler's service in the Army in the 18th Infantry Regiment that was part of the 1st Infantry Division during World War II. The collection consists of military records, newspaper clippings and some personal items. He served in the Illinois Air National Guard 126th Light Bomber Wing and the 56th/66th Fighter Wing. The General Frank Allen Collection relates to Brig. Also in this collection is a newspaper clipping mentioning Aldrich, a questionnaire, and a note from one of Aldrich’s descendants, Pat Aldrich. The collection contains typed transcripts of Captain Aldrich’s diary which includes his account of his escape from a Confederate prison at the end of 1864. The collection consists of letters, military documents, a scrapbook, soldier savings deposit slips, Korean and American propaganda leaflets and photographs. Materials are from both at home at Fort Sill and Camp Drake and from when Adler was deployed overseas in Japan and Korea.
